Birds of Steel Ps3 and Xbox 360 Operation Watchtower
There are details now released that the Mission at Guadalcanal is to be included in the new Birds of Steel PS3 and Xbox 360 game soon due for release. Code Named Watchtower the Allied mission in Guadalcanal in 1943 was in response to the Japanese attempt to secure a foot hold in the Solomon Islands.
Located in the South Pacific the Solomons consists of several Islands of which Guadalcanal is the largest. On the north side of the island located in a valley is an airfield known as Henderson field and an army base.
The Allies had taken their eyes of the ball and failed to notice the Japanese activity at Henderson Field where they were re building the airstrip and making it ready for the Japanese air force. Their strategy was to seek to blockade the Allied support from Australia and to cut off Allied lines of supply.
The Allies had no choice other than to respond to the Japanese initiative and the outcome was bloody. The battle for Henderson Air Force Base was intense and many Allied personnel were lost. The Allies did however prevail, but at a high price.
You can now experience the action at Guadalcanal as the Mission has now been added to Birds of Steel PS3 and Xbox 360 due for release on 12th March 2012.
This brings the number of Historical Missions up to twenty and we are all looking forward to March 12th to get our day one release copy of the Birds of Steel PS3 and Xbox 360 game. All the news coming from the developers site is looking good and the signs are that there will be no further delays in achieving the release of Birds of Steel PS3 and Xbox, which is causing so much excitement in the gaming community.
