It was way back in May 2011 that Konami announced the launch of Birds of Steel PS3. Since then everyone has been eagerly awaiting the arrival of this potential Flight Sim Blockbuster!
Well that release date has now been announced as 12th March 2012 so you can Preorder Birds of Steel PS3 NOW!

If all of the Press is to believed, this is going to be the ultimate Flight Simulation experience with incredibly realistic graphics putting you in the cockpit of over a hundred different World War 2 fighting planes in some of the most testing and hard fought dog fights of the war, including Pearl Harbour, along with loads of fictional campaigns all of which can be played solo or in multiplayer mode.

The Birds of Steel PS3 game can be played both against dog fight adversaries, as coordinated cooperative air attack missions or in mass team fights to the death. Who is the Red Baron? You’ll find out soon enough as the planes are scrambled and battle commences!

As we fast approach the March 12th release date for Birds of Steel PS3, Konami have started to release information about the various Historical Missions you will be able to experience.

Pearl Harbour is a “No Brainer” that was always going to be there, that was the conflict that brought America into the War and is of huge significance. However some of the battles are less well known so I guess we all get a history lesson as well when we play Birds of Steel PS3!

So far it looks like they have got, along with Pearl Harbour, the battle at Midway in the Pacific not far from Hawai, the conflict in Germany in the Ruhr District, the dogfight that ensued to secure the airspace over Malta…

…and the list goes on and on and Birds of Steel PS3 takes us pretty much all round the world through the Black Sea, to Port Moresby and to the Coral Sea – No details of those last two Missions have been released yet – so get on the early bird list so you can keep up to speed.

They missed a great marketing opportunity by missing the 11th day of the 11th Month of 2011, but the game will be better for the attention to detail that the delayed release date has allowed them.
